I find it quite hard to read your blog, the print is small, and that light grayish color that just does not go well with my old eyes. Viewing on a 19 inch monitor with Chrome. My great-grandmother never talked about her parents and when asked, she and all her siblings would say, "I don't want to talk about the past. That's all over and done with." I only recently heard from a cousin that they didn't want to talk about their parents because the parents were shady characters, involved in human trafficking and slavery in the early twentieth century. I guess you'd not be too pleased to tell your descendants about something like that. I can relate to your interaction with your grandfather.
